The MCP4901/4911/4921 devices are single channel 8-bit, 10-bit and 12-bit buffered voltage output Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), respectively. The devices operate from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply with an SPI compatible Serial Peripheral Interface. The user can configure the full-scale range of the device to be VREF or 2*VREF by setting the gain selection option bit (gain of 1 of 2). The user can shut down the device by setting the Configuration Register bit. In Shutdown mode, most of the internal circuits are turned off for power savings, and the output amplifier is configured to present a known high resistance output load (500 ktypical. The devices include double-buffered registers, allowing synchronous updates of the DAC output using the LDAC pin. These devices also incorporate a Power-on Reset (POR) circuit to ensure reliable powerup. The devices utilize a resistive string architecture, with its inherent advantages of low Differential Non-Linearity (DNL) error and fast settling time. These devices are specified over the extended temperature range (+125°C). The devices provide high accuracy and low noise performance for consumer and industrial applications where calibration or compensation of signals (such as temperature, pressure and humidity) are required. The MCP4901/4911/4921 devices are available in the PDIP, SOIC, MSOP and DFN packages.

The AD521 is a second generation, low cost, monolithic IC instrUmentation amplifier developed by Analog Devices.As a trUe instrUmentation amplifier, the AD521 is a gain block with differential inputs and an accurately programmable input/ output gain relationship. The AD521 ICinstrUmentation amplifier should not be confused with an operational amplifier, although severalmanufactUrers(including Analog Devices)offer op amps which can be used as building blocks in variable gain instrumentation amplifier circuits. Op amps are general-purpose components which, when used with precision-matched external resistors, can perform the instrUmentation amplifier function. An instrumentation amplifier is a precision differential voltage gain device optimized for operation in a real world environment, and is intended to be used wherever acquisition of a useful signal is difficult. It is characterized by high input impedance, balanced differential inputs, low bias currents and high CMR. As a complete instrUmentation amplifier, the AD521 requires only two resistors to set its gain to any value between 0.1 and 1000. The ratio matching of these resistors does not affect the high CMRR (up to 120dB) or the high input impedance (3 X 109il) of the AD521. Furthermore, unlike most operational amplifier-based instrUmentation amplifiers, the inputs are protected against overvoltagesup to :1:15volts beyond the supplies. The AD521 IC instrumentation amplifier is available in four different versions of accuracy and operating temperatUre range. The economical "J" grade, the low drift "K" grade, and the lower drift, higher linearity "L" grade are specified from 0 to +70°C.The "S" grade guarantees performance to specification over the eXtended temperatUre range: -SSoCto +125°C.

The MIC4423 family are highly reliable BiCMOS/DMOS buffer/driver/MOSFET drivers. They are higher output current versions of the which are improved versions of the . All three families are pin compatible. The MIC4423 drivers are capable of giving reliable service in more demanding electrical environments than their predecessors. They will not latch under any conditions within their power and voltage ratings. They can survive up to 5V of noise spiking, of either polarity, on the ground pin. They can accept, without either damage or logic upset, up to half an amp of reverse current (either polarity) forced back into their outputs. The MIC4423/4424/4425 series drivers are easier to use, more flexible in operation, and more forgiving than other CMOS or bipolar drivers currently available. Their BiCMOS/DMOS construction dissipates minimum power and provides rail-to-rail voltage swings. Primarily intended for driving power MOSFETs, the MIC4423/4424/4425 drivers are suitable for driving other loads (capacitive, resistive, or inductive) which require low-impedance, high peak currents, and fast switching times. Heavily loaded clock lines, coaxial cables, or piezoelectric transducers are some examples. The only known limitation on loading is that total power dissipated in the driver must be kept within the maximum power dissipation limits of the package.

The Microchip Technology Inc. MCP3004/3008 devices are successive approximation 10-bit Analogto-Digital (A/D) converters with on-board sample and hold circuitry. The MCP3004 is programmable to provide two pseudo-differential input pairs or four single-ended inputs. The MC34118 Voice Switched Speakerphone Circuit incorporates the necessary amplifiers, attenuators, level detectors, and control algorithm to form the heart of a high quality hands--free speakerphone system. Included are a microphone amplifier with adjustable gain and MUTE control, Transmit and Receive attenuators which operate in a complementary manner, level detectors at both input and output of both attenuators, and background noise monitors for both the transmit and receive channels. A Dial Tone Detector prevents the dial tone from being attenuated by the Receive background noise monitor circuit. Also included are two line driver amplifiers which can be used to form a hybrid network in conjunction with an external coupling transformer. A high--pass filter can be used to filter out 60 Hz noise in the receive channel, or for other filtering functions. A Chip Disable pin permits powering down the entire circuit to conserve power on long loops where loop current is at a minimum. The MC34118 may be operated from a power supply, or it can be powered from the telephone line, requiring typically 5.0 mA. The MC34118 can be interfaced directly to Tip and Ring (through a coupling transformer) for stand--alone operation, or it can be used in conjunction with a handset speech network and/or other features of a featurephone.

The MC144898 is a flexible light-emitting-diode driver which directly interfaces to individual lamps, 7-segment displays, or various combinations of both. LEOs wired with common cathodes are driven in a multiplexed-by-5 fashion. Communication with an MCUIMPU is established through a synchronous serial port. The MC 144898 features data retention plus decode and scan circuitry, thus relieving processor overhead. A single, current-setting resistor is the only ancillary component required. A single device can drive anyone of the following: a 5-digit display plus decimals, a 4-112-digit display plus decimals and sign, or 25 lamps. A special technique allows driving 5 112 digits; see Figure 16. A configuration register allows the drive capability to be partitioned off to suit many additional applications. The on-chip decoder outputs 7-segment-format numerals O to 9, hexadecimal characters A to F, plus 151etters and symbols. The MC144898 is compatible with the Motorola SPI and National MICRO-WIRETM serial data ports. The TC962 is an advanced version of the industry standard TC7662 high voltage DC-to-DC converter. Using improved design techniques and CMOS construction, the TC962 can source as much as 80 mA versus the 7662’s 20 mA capability. As an inverter, the TC962 can put out voltages as high as 18V and as low as 3V without the need for external diodes. The output impedance of the device is a low 28 (with the proper capacitors), voltage conversion efficiency is 99.9%, and power conversion efficiency is 97%. The low voltage terminal (pin 6) required in some TC7662 applications has been eliminated. Grounding this terminal will double the oscillator frequency from 12 kHz to 24 kHz. This will allow the use of smaller capacitors for the same output current and ripple, in most applications. Only two external capacitors are required for inverter applications. In the event an external clock is needed to drive the TC962 (such as paralleling), driving this pin directly will cause the internal oscillator to sync to the external clock. Pin 1, which is used as a test pin on the 7662, is a voltage reference Zener on the TC962. This Zener (6.4V at 5 mA) has a dynamic impedance of 12 and is intended for use where the TC962 is supplying current to external regulator circuitry and a reference is needed for the regulator circuit. (See Section 3.0 “Applications Information” Applications Information). The TC962 is compatible with the LTC1044, SI7661 and ICL7662. It should be used in designs that require greater power and/or less input to output voltage drop. It offers superior performance over the ICL7660S.
