The LM105 series are positive voltage regulators similar tothe LM100, except that an extra gain stage has been addedfor improved regulation. A redesign of the biasing circuitry re-moves any minimum load current requirement and at thesame time reduces standby current drain, permitting highervoltage operation. They are direct, plug-in replacements forthe LM100 in both linear and switching regulator circuits withoutput voltages greater than 4.5V. Important characteristicsof the circuits are:

• Output voltage adjustable from 4.5V to 40V
• Output currents in excess of 10A possible by adding ex-ternal transistors
• Load regulation better than 0.1%, full load with currentlimitin.

The LM236 AH-5V is an integrated circuit (IC) manufactured by National Semiconductor (now part of Texas Instruments). It is a precision voltage reference and is commonly used in various applications that require a stable, accurate reference voltage. The LM236 AH-5V specifically provides a 5V output and is typically used for systems where a precise 5V reference is needed.

Hammond Manufacturing’s 1556 series enclosures are molded in flame-retardant ABS plastic and are ideal for housing printed circuit boards and a variety of electronic devices. Available in black, white, or light gray, the 1556 series features modern rounded edges and 14 sizes to choose from including both rectangular and square options.

1556 series enclosures can be mounted in three different ways. Optional mounting feet, supplied in a pack of four, can be installed facing outwards for heavy-duty wall mounting or inside the pre-molded foot slots on the back of the enclosure for flush wall mounting. Adhesive rubber feet are included with each enclosure which prevent unwanted movement when mounted on a desk or tabletop.

Aluminum inner panels are available for all sizes. The enclosure lid is secured by installing four self-tapping Plastite screws into pre-molded screw posts.

The LM136-2.5-N/LM236-2.5-N and LM336-2.5-N integrated circuits are precision 2.5V shunt regulator diodes. These monolithic IC voltage references operate as a low-temperature-coefficient 2.5V zener with 0.2Ω dynamic impedance. A third terminal on the LM136-2.5-N allows the reference voltage and temperature coefficient to be trimmed easily.

The LM136-2.5-N series is useful as a precision 2.5V low voltage reference for digital voltmeters, power supplies or op amp circuitry. The 2.5V make it convenient to obtain a stable reference from 5V logic supplies. Further, since the LM136-2.5-N operates as a shunt regulator, it can be used as either a positive or negative voltage reference.

The LM136-2.5-N is rated for operation over −55°C to +125°C while the LM236-2.5-N is rated over a −25°C to +85°C temperature range.

A special 24-pin, 600 mil DIP CAPHAT™ package houses the M48Z02/12 silicon with a long-life lithium button cell to form a highly integrated battery-backed memory solution. The M48Z02/12 button cell has sufficient capacity and storage life to maintain data functionality for an accumulated time period of at least 10 years in the absence of power over commercial operating temperature range. The M48Z02/12 is a non-volatile pin and function equivalent to any JEDEC standard 2 K x 8 SRAM. It also easily fits into many ROM, EPROM, and EEPROM sockets, providing the non-volatility of PROMs without any requirement for special WRITE timing or limitations on the number of WRITEs that can be performed.
